Cricket World Cup Final Odds
India are 4/6 to win the World Cup, as they face fellow co-host Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Saturday.
India held their nerve to beat Pakistan and make it to the Cricket World Cup final. Estimated to have been watched by one billion people, the pressure on the game was huge; Harbhajan Singh suggesting it was like a final itself.
Attention can now turn to Sri Lanka who face India in the concluding game on Saturday. The bookmakers have the co-hosts evenly matched, with India 4/6 favourites and Sri Lanka 11/8.
The final will be played at Sachin Tendulkar’s home ground of Mumbai, as he searches for his 100th hundred. The ‘little master’ is only three runs behind Tillakaratne Dilshan in the race to be the tournament’s leading run scorer. William Hill make him 6/5 to overturn the deficit and finish the World Cup as the leading batsman.
In the top bowler market, Shahid Afridi is 8/15 to be the tournament’s leading wicket taker, with Zaheer Kahn his only realistic challenger. The Indian fast bowler is two wickets behind with one game left and can be backed at 13/8.
