Cricket World Cup Betting: Semi Finals

India cricket

India are 6/4 favourites for the World Cup, but Sri Lanka are the big movers in the outright betting.

It was a game too far for England as they were comprehensively beaten in the World Cup; Sri Lanka winning by ten wickets. A disappointing end for Andrew Strauss and his men, who finished their five month tour on a low note.

In the other quarter finals India and Pakistan gained routine victories, while it was heartache again for South Africa. The Proteas conspired to lose from a winning position against New Zealand, leaving the semi-finals as follows:

Semi Final Matches

29th March: Sri Lanka (4/11) v New Zealand (12/5)
30th March: India (4/7) v Pakistan (6/4)

In the outright market, India are favourites at 6/4 but Sri Lanka are the big movers. With on paper the easier of the semi-finals, they are 9/5 to win the world cup having been 5/1 the previous round.

In the player markets, Shahid Afridi (1/3) seems to have sewn up the top bowler title. He is four wickets ahead of Zaheer Khan (9/2). The top batsman market is more open with seven players in with a realistic chance.
