US Masters Tips: Bo Van Pelt

T8 on his Masters debut last year and arrives in great form. Finished in the top-ten in his last four strokeplay events.

The 90/1 (Paddy Power) for a man who finished T8 on his Masters debut seems big. Perhaps the bookmakers think it was a fluke, but they are wrong, Bo Van Pelt is a very good golfer.

In his last four strokeplay tournaments, he has finished: T8-T8-T8-9. We are looking at a man who loves Augusta and arrives in red hot form. The only reason he is not 33/1 is because he isn’t a ‘name’ golfer.

Looking at his statistics more closely just adds weight to the argument. He ranks 23rd for driving distance, 1st for strokes gained putting and 1st for birdie average. He is a golfer who hits the ball a mile and can putt; a pretty good combination.

At 90/1 he is a solid each way bet with Paddy Power paying ¼ odds for a top six finish.
