The Barclays Golf Tips: Brandt Snedeker

Sneds able to bounce back

Price is simply too big for a player who had one bad week on the greens.

It is strange to see Brandy Snedeker priced up at 110/1 for The Barclays. Ranked 18th in the Fed Ex Cup and with a win on tour already, it seems an overreaction to consecutive missed cuts.

It was a poor result at the Wyndham Championship last week, but delve deeper and with 69 putts for two rounds you see the problem. It was just one of those tournaments when nothing dropped for Snedeker. Ranking 6th on tour for strokes gained putting, Wyndham was just an aberration for this normally reliable putter.

Before last week, Snedeker’s record on Donald Ross courses was T69-T5-T16-T8, a consistent run of form. The American ranks 21st for scoring average and 31st in the all-around ranking on tour.

The price is simply too big for a player who has had a couple of bad weeks. His game has been in good shape this year and he could easily bounce back at 110/1. Back him each way at ¼ odds for a top five finish.
