Wimbledon Tip: Paszek v Wickmayer

The Eastbourne winner has already sent Wozniacki packing at the All-England Club.

Tamira Paszek and Yanina Wickmayer may currently sit side-by-side in the world rankings but I think the Austrian is a clear favourite to progress to round four. The 21-year-old has simply carried on from where she left off having won the grass tournament at Eastbourne coming into Wimbledon.

Paszek has already brought us one payday by defeating former world number one Caroline Wozniacki on Wednesday. She followed that with a 6-2 6-1 humbling of Alize Cornet which must have left her brimming with confidence.

It was a much tougher day on court for Wickmayer who squeaked through against Galina Voskoboeva 4-6 6-3 8-6. The Belgian is a competent player but having lost in the opening round of both the other Slams so far this year she isn’t pulling up any trees.

I think Paszek will benefit greatly from having such an easier passage through round two and I think she can win in straight sets again at best odds of 7/5 with PaddyPower.
