Harrison v Chardy Tip

The man dubbed by many as the next big star of American men's tennis.

The bookies have got the odds the wrong way round in this one where Ryan Harrison can be backed as the 5/4 (Boylesports) underdog against Jeremy Chardy (8/11 StanJames).

This is a classic case of the odds-makers sticking with world rankings when other factors matter more. Harrison is an athletic big server with a fearsome forehand suited to grass ,whereas Chardy was raised on the clay of continental Europe.

The 21-year-old from Texas has been unlucky with the draws at Wimbledon in previous years having run into Ferrer in 2011, whom he extended to five sets, and Djokovic in 2012.

Harrison won the only previous meeting between the pair, on the hard courts of Indian Wells, and now could be his time to shine again.
