French Open: Lopez v Ferrer

This all-Spanish battle shouldn't be as one-sided as the bookies expect.

One of the favourites to go deep at Roland Garros, David Ferrer should face his first test in round three against Feliciano Lopez.

Although an upset shouldn’t be on the cards, Lopez is eye-catchingly long at best odds of 11/1 (Boylesports). This is especially true when you consider that the head-to-head record between the two stands at 6-6.

Admittedly, the world number five has definitely grabbed the upper hand in recent years having won four of the last five clashes. However, the last two meetings went to deciding sets which shows how tough it could be for Ferrer once again.

Lopez is a best price of 13/8 with Skybet simply to take a set off his fellow-countryman, and that looks like a bargain.
