Wales 6/1 For World Cup Glory

Wales are 6/1 with Bet365 to win the Rugby World Cup having started the tournament as 100/1 outsiders.

Hosts New Zealand have been cut to 4/6 (Sportingbet) to win the Rugby World Cup after they overcame a spirited Argentina on Sunday morning. They face Australian, 9/2 with Paddy Power, at Eden Park on Sunday.

There were upsets in the other two quarter-finals as Wales and France overturned the paper favourites. Wales are 6/1 (Bet365) to win their first World Cup with France the 8/1 (Sportingbet) outsiders. It is a measure of their progress that Wales are 10/11 (Boylesports) to beat France on Saturday morning. Scarcely believable when Warren Gatland’s men were written off as 100/1 no-hopers at the start of the tournament.

Vincent Clerc at 11/8 (Paddy Power) leads the top try scorer market on six tries. The French winger is tied with England’s Chris Ashton but his side are guaranteed at least two more games. Good news for those who followed our antepost tip, with Clerc flagged up at 28/1 pre-tournament.
