Six Nations Rugby Tip: Irish Insurance at the Aviva

Ireland have won six of their last seven against England and will want to spoil the party.

England go to Ireland searching for their first Grand Slam and Championship since 2003. The problem is since 2003 Ireland has become their bogey team. In the last seven meetings between the sides Ireland has won six.

Based on recent history the 8/13 on England winning at the Aviva seems like crazy talk. Bookmakers live in the present but even on current form I don’t think the price is justified.

Scotland were worryingly dominant during the first half at Twickenham, it was only a harsh yellow card that brought England back into the game. Sound familiar? Well it should, as the same happened against Wales. No one in the English media has mentioned it but England has had the rub of the green this Six Nations.

Ireland are a generous 9/5 with Boylesports to win the game but I’m slightly nervous to take advantage as Ireland have been masters of their own downfall. For the extra insurance I’m taking the four point buffer in the handicap on Ireland just in case they gift a winning penalty to a certain J. Wilkinson.
