2011 Six Nations: 2nd

Verdict: The basketcases of the World Cup reached the final despite being at odds with their manager. Philippe Saint-Andre has since replaced Marc Lièvremont restoring harmony and sanity to the dressing room. Able to call on a talented group of players, the French have the best Six Nations record, winning the tournament five times in the last 12 years.

The fixture list has been kind to Les Bleus; they only have two away games. A trip to Murrayfield in week 3 and a possible title decider at the Millennium Stadium in week 5. By this stage they could face a Wales team running on empty after a long gruelling season, a Grand Slam is available at 4/1 with Coral.

The French are blessed with strength in depth and in Clermont centre Wesley Fofana they have one of the new stars of European rugby.
