Verdict:Although winners of the Wooden Spoon in eight of the last eleven years the Italians haven’t been the whipping boys many expected. Nick Mallet is likely to blood 20-year old Edoardo Gori at scrum half, a position that has been a problem since Alessandro Troncon retired, if he is able to marshal his good set of forwards then Italy might be able to make some headway in the tournament.
