Verdict: The most successful country in Six Nations history approach the tournament in mixed form. After low key wins over Fiji and Argentina in the Autumn the wheels came off spectacularly against Australia.
Tied at 13-13 at half time, France went on to lose the game 16-59 a result that sent shock-waves through French rugby. Poor though that result was France are still Grand Slam champions and with such strength in depth bookmakers have them as second favourites for the title.
