Six Nations Betting: England 4/7 For Grand Slam

England are 4/7 to win in Ireland and clinch their first Grand Slam since 2003. Whilst Italy shocked France at 16/1.

It was a weekend of evenly matched Six Nations rugby with no team able to break away from their rival. That was good news for Italy, trailing 18-6 in the second half, produced a stirring comeback to deliver one of the biggest shocks in the history of the Six Nations. Considered 16/1 make-weights before the game, Italy edged over the line with a 22-21 victory.

It was a humbling defeat for France and coach Marc Lievremont put the blame firmly at the feet of his team. With six big name changes already announced for the final game against Wales, it possibly marks the end of some International careers.

“There is a certain form of cowardice - when I speak with them, nothing happens, as usual,” Lievermont said.

“I feel like I’m responsible for this but the players are lacking courage. Some of the players maybe wore the France jersey for the last time.”

France are 3/10 to win their last game but if Wales cause an upset at 11/4, it could mark the end of one more career.

Scotland produced their performance of the Six Nations running England close but losing 22-16 at Twickenham. Tom Croft and Jonny Wilkinson came off the bench for the decisive scores. England are now 4/7 to beat Ireland at the Aviva and clinch their first Grand Slam since 2003.

If it wasn’t for ill discipline against France and ‘ball-gate’ against Wales, Ireland could have been heading for their own Grand Slam. They will be desperate to end on a high and at 13/8 will look forward to trying to ruin England’s party.
