Euro 2012 Group A Betting: Czech Republic

Cech: A Champions League winner at last.

Chelsea's Petr Cech will need to be at his best to give his side a hope this summer.

Czech Republic
Odds to win group: 4/1 (WilliamHill)
Odds to qualify: 6/4 (Coral)

Firing blanks?
The Czechs’ biggest problem looks like scoring goals. The system of playing Milan Baros as a lone striker looked insipid in the 2-1 home defeat to Hungary on 1 June. Top scorer in qualifiying was centre back Michal Kadlec with three of his four goals coming from the spot. 13/8 (BetVictor) for them scoring under three goals in Group A looks generous.

Too many draws?
A lack of firepower may mean that the Czech Republic draw matches that might have been there for the taking. They could go home without a victory to their name - a 13/8 shot with PaddyPower.

Points hard to come by?
With Russia looking ominous, Greece, Poland and the Czechs face a likely scrap for second. If the hosts find an extra gear in front of their own fans then it doesn’t look good for Bilek’s side. They are 17/2 (Bet365) to get 2 points or 6/1 (StanJames) to take a meagre 1 point.
