Australian sprinters are always worthy of respect and a comfortable winner on his penultimate start in Dubai.

With the ground drying out overnight, the chances of Hoof It winning the 3.00 York have dramatically improved. However, at 9/4 (William Hill) he still isn’t value. Godolphin won the race last year with Delegator and they can repeat the trick at much bigger odds with Soul.

A recent recruit from Australia, he heralds from a country that knows how to train sprinters. Over the years Australia have regularly defeated their European counterparts, the likes of Choisir and Starspangledbanner both victorious at Royal Ascot.

Soul looked made of the same stuff, when an easy winner of a 6f handicap in Meydan. This race represents a step up in class but he was a listed winner on his last start in Australia and that equates to Group company in Europe. At 18/1 (Stan James) he could be the surprise package in the race.
