Sandown Tips: Threes Grand

Races off a career low mark and although inconsistent she has won twice on soft ground.

The going on the sprint track is ‘soft’ and with it unlikely to dry out before the 2.30 race the ability to handle the ground will be crucial.

Threes Grand is a talented but inconsistent individual but in her favour we know she handles conditions, both her wins coming on soft ground.

Scott Dixon’s filly races in class 5 company for only the second time in her career, winning on the other occasion as a juvenile.

Much of her racing life has been spent in a higher grade and only 12 months ago she was winning a class 2 handicap at York.

It has been a struggle since then and it is hard to know how good she still is but she was only beaten 5.25 lengths in a strong handicap at Goodwood last month.

With the far-side rail within reach from stall 3 and Adam Kirby on-board, she could steal the race from the front if others struggle in the soft ground.
