Sandown Celebration Chase: Runners & Riders

Sandown Celebration Chase

A detailed guide to the runners in the Sandown Celebration Chase at 2.35 on Saturday.

Our guide to the 2.35 Celebration Chase runners:

Tataniano1. Tataniano: 6/5
Looked a good two mile chase prospect after his novice season but only run once since. Arrives after a long absence because he tore a muscle in training, has to prove he is the best.

Chaninbar2. Chaninbar: 100/1
Has refused to race on his last three starts but when he has got going he has some decent form. You take a huge risk with this character.

cornas3. Cornas: 9/1
Handles the track with a record of 421 at Sandown, the last of those when finishing in front of Tchico Polos. Always come up short when facing top quality opposition.

french opera4. French Opera: 3/1
Reported to have been unsuited by the soft going when flopping behind Cornas. Finished sixth in the Champion Chase, which is about the best current form in the race.

Oiseau De Nuit5. Oiseau De Nuit: 9/2
Has been in excellent form this season and was a surprise winner of the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival. Confirmed that running was not a fluke when runner up in the Red Rum Chase at Aintree a month later.

Russian Flag6. Russian Flag: 28/1
In good form having mopped up a couple of Class 3 chases this year. Faces a big jump in class and both times he has tackled graded company he has been pulled up.
