Ripon Tips: Summerinthecity
Finished fifth in the Great St. Wilfrid, ‘winning’ his side of the race. Inconsistent since then but useful when on song.
You get two types of performance from Summerintthecity - the very good, or the very bad - and at 16/1, I’m banking on the former.
When on song this season he’s won a class 3 handicap and finished a short-head behind the smart Tropics, but there have been plenty of clunkers as well.
Last time out he ran no sort of race at Wolverhampton but he’s nowhere near as good on the all-weather so I’m hoping it was just an aberration.
Three starts back he finished fifth in the Great St. Wilfrid over course and distance ‘winning’ his side of the race. He returns to Ripon for the 3.45 and with a favourable draw he could spring a surprise at 16/1 (Paddy Power).
