Ripon Tips: Pearl Ice

Has an excellent course record and tends to hit small bursts of form. Second at the track 12 days ago.

Eight of the last ten winners of the Great St. Wilfrid (3.30 Ripon) have raced on the far side and in big fields at Ripon a low draw is favourable.

Pearl Ice is nicely drawn in stall 3 and with a record of one win and one second place from two starts at Ripon he should enjoy himself at the track.

Last season big things were expected from David Barron’s charge but he failed to build on his early season win and a tilt at the Wokingham failed to materialise.

His pattern of form has been inconsistent since then but he generally manages to string two good runs together each season.

Last time out he ran a cracking race to finish second over course and distance and every time he’s finished second he’s won his next start. At 10/1 (Betfred) I’m banking on history repeating itself.
