Ripon Tips: El Viento

Has a good record on sharp undulating tracks and arrives in top form.

The 2.20 Ripon is another race that could be decided by the draw.  The field will split but with the early pace horses all drawn low, the far-side is the place to be. El Viento is nicely drawn in stall 4 and should get a lovely tow into the race.

Richard’s Fahey’s 4-year-old ran a good race to finish 5th on his last start at Goodwood and it confirmed my theory that he is a horse best on undulating tracks. Since the start of 2011 his record on undulating tracks over 6f is: 204155, with the one victory coming over course and distance.

El Viento arrives in form and with the blinkers retained, he’s worn headgear for all his victories, he looks the best bet at the odds.
