Newcastle Tips: Something Lucky
Finished a good fifth last month, closing from rear without the jockey getting serious. Should relish the step up in trip and down in grade.
When Something Lucky first landed in the UK he was rated 92 but despite winning a race in February he’s slipped down to a mark of 75 and races in class 5 company for the first time in the 4.30 Newcastle.
A better horse on the all-weather, he ran with promise at Newcastle last month. He perhaps found 5f a bit sharp, especially after a two-month layoff but he finished the race strongly without Shane Gray getting too animated on board.
A winner over further in France, he seems to be crying out for a step up in trip and combined with the drop in grade he can win again.
