Newcastle Tips: Fair Bunny
Enjoys soft conditions and could pick up the pieces if the leaders go off too quick.
The improving Boucher Garcon could have a tonne in hand of his official handicap mark but there is no value in his price. There is also a danger the favourite could get into a pace duel with Bailadiera and ruin his chances in the 3.20 Newcastle.
If the front two bolt-off, they could tire badly in testing conditions. This could set up the race for Fair Bunny, a winner twice from three starts on going described as ‘soft’.
On her last turf race of 2011 she actually finished ahead of Boucher Garcon in similar conditions. A previous course winner at 6f, extra stamina could bring her into contention at juicy odds of 14/1 (Stan James).
