Newcastle Tips: Danzeno
Lost his last race at the start but made a big impression when winning at Newmarket on his seasonal debut. A return to that level of form gives him a big chance.
The Chipchase Stakes (2.40 Newcastle) is usually one of the weakest Group sprints on the calendar and is a perfect opportunity for Michael Appleby to increase his growing reputation with Danzeno.
The lightly raced 3-year-old was extremely impressive on his seasonal debut, winning a strong handicap at Newmarket in a fast time. Things went wrong at York last time, but he was restless in the stalls and missed the break.
Given his profile he can be forgiven one bad run and looks the most exciting prospect in a wide open race.
