Newcastle Tips: Chilworth Icon
Should be third time lucky after being beaten by the draw on his last two starts.
Chilworth Icon was beaten by the draw on his last two starts and unless stall 9 turns out to be a disadvantage, he should win the 5.50 Newcastle.
Two starts back at Chester he couldn’t overcame stall 7 (after accounting for the non-runners). He was forced to race in rear and despite running the fastest closing sectional he couldn’t made up the ground he forfeited at the start.
It was a similar story at Goodwood last week. His high draw (13) meant he raced nearer the stand’s side than ideal. The first three home came from stalls 2-1-5 but Chilworth Icon did the best he could by beating those around him and finishing sixth.
This evening he steps down in grade and granted luck in running he should be winning at 4/1 (William Hill).
