Newcastle Racing Tip: La Zamora

newcastle tip

Has an excellent strike rate for a so-called ‘inconsistent’ horse. Her trainer is also in fine form.

The price of La Zamora looks completely wrong in the 8.10 at Newcastle. Since being dropped back to six furlongs she has looked a revitalised prospect, winning two of her three races at the trip.

The first of those wins was at York where she finished 1.5 lengths ahead of today’s market leader. She beat King Of Eden fair and square yet today she is 12/1 versus the favourite at 11/4.

She finished 2011 with victory in a class 3 race at Doncaster to bring her career record over six furlongs to: 32101. Still only five years old with relatively few miles on the clock, there is no reason to suspect she has regressed over the winter. Trainer David Barron has started the season brightly and her jockey Lee Newman has a 31% strike rate for the yard this year.
