National Hunt Trainers’ Championship Betting

Paul Nicholls is edging favouritism for the National Hunt Trainers’ Championship after a seven-timer on Saturday.

The betting suggests it is a two horse race in the Trainers’ Championship for the 2011/12 National Hunt season. Despite saddling seven winners on Saturday Paul Nicholls is steady at evens (Ladbrokes) for the championship. The Ditcheat trainer has dominated the sport for the past five years but with stable stars Kauto Star and Denman reaching the end of their careers, the valuable championship races could go elsewhere.

Nicky Henderson looks like the man to profit. Second favourite at 11/8 (Coral) he has the usual strong contingent of hurdlers plus the magnificent Long Run; favourite for the King George and Cheltenham Gold Cup.
