My Tent Or Yours Vying For Champion Hurdle Favouritism
My Tent Or Yours took the first Grade 1 of the jumps season at Newcastle on Saturday and is 9/2 for the Champion Hurdle.
My Tent Or Yours is favourite with some bookmakers to win the Champion Hurdle after his victory in the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle.
The 6-year-old won in a manner befitting of a top-class hurdler although he will surely face tougher tests this winter. Melodic Rendezvous failed to fire and AP McCoy never needed to get serious on My Tent Or Yours as he ran out a 3 length winner.
The bookmakers were suitable impressed and he is now 9/2 (Betfred) to win the Champion Hurdle having been 6/1 at the start of the weekend.
The Racing Post awarded My Tent Or Yours a rating of 152 for his win, 11lbs below his best performance last season which slightly tempers enthusiasm.
