Musselburgh Tip: Excessable
Disappointed in the Dash when well backed but a more conventional track could see him recapture the form of his two wins.
We tipped Excessable to win the Dash on Derby Day and he was well supported in the market so it was therefore disappointing he could only finish 13th.
Watching a reply of the race everything seemed to be happening too quickly for him, he could never get in the race and perhaps didn’t handle the track.
If we forgive that run there’s still plenty to like about a horse who has already won twice this season. Both a Thirsk and Redcar he ran big adjusted speed figures and a mark of 89 still under plays his ability.
Musselburgh is still a sharp test but a more conventional track and he could bounce back this afternoon.
