Let The Dusty Settle
Dusty Blue’s recent form is uninspiring but she ran the second fastest sectional last time out and races in a lower grade than she is used to.
Autumn Tonic is likely to be all the rage for the 4.20 Lingfield after his luckless fifth at the track three days ago. That defeat was keenly felt in Betting Bias towers having tipped him at 14/1.
Unfortunately, the cat is out of the bag now and there is no point in backing a horse at 2/1 having got seven times the odds earlier in the week. The value in the race is on the less blatant eye-catcher Dusty Blue.
The 4-year-old is liable to be friendless in the betting having beaten a grand total of 3 horses in her last three stats but she is much better than the bare form.
Last time out she couldn’t live with the impressive winner, Rich Again but she clocked the second fastest closing sectional in a desperate cause.
The benefit of that defeat is she’s dropped to 64 and is now eligible for 0-65 handicaps like the one this afternoon. Having spent most of her career in class 5 races, the ease in grade could be what she needs.
She’s not a hopeless cause having won at Bath back in August and with Autumn Tonic likely to take all the market’s attention she will be overpriced.
