De Sousa Drifts In Jockeys Championship Betting
Silverstre De Sousa’s title ambitions have seemingly weakened as he agrees to join the Godolphin stable and ride alongside Frankie Dettori in 2012.
Paul Hanagan has hardened as favourite for the 2012 British Flat Jockeys Championship after Silverstre De Sousa signed up to ride for Godolphin this year.
Stan James reacted by pushing De Sousa out to 4/1 in the betting. Rory Jiwani, the spokesman for the bookmaker said: “Much of De Sousa’s success last season came on Northern tracks but this new deal will prevent him taking up so many rides for other yards. We’ve pushed him out from 11/4 to 4/1 for the jockeys”.
Paul Hanagan is a best price 7/2 with Ladbrokes to win his third consecutive title, with Ryan Moore 4/1 with Coral. Kieren Fallon is 7/1 with Stan James to win his seventh jockeys championship.
