RSA Chase Tips: Seeyouatmidnight

Put in an excellent round of jumping to win at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day, recording a good speed rating in the process.

The RSA Chase (2.10) is a good race but I suspect reputation more than ability has shaped the market.  Sandy Thomson has only sent out 13 winners this season but there is talent amongst his small string.

Seeyouatmidnight is the stable star and he shouldn’t be taken lightly. A 150+ rated hurdler, he was good enough to finish seventh in last year’s World Hurdle despite always looking a chaser in the making.

So far his novice career has gone well, winning his last three starts including a competitive novices’ chase at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day.  The 8-year-old put in a smart round of jumping to make all and had enough in reserve to sprint away from Blaklion at this finish, clocking a useful speed rating in the process.

Having run in the World Hurdle there are no stamina doubts and he has jumped these fences well. At 12/1 he is a solid betting proposition with William Hill giving our money back as a free bet if he finishes second.
