Wyndham Championship Tips: Scott Brown

Finished T5 at the recent John Deere Classic and form on that course is often replicated at Sedgefield CC.

Scott Brown is one of those PGA Tour players who flies under the radar but is better than people give him credit for.

The 31-year-old is a relative newcomer to the tour, this is only his third season, but he is already a winner and sits 52nd in the FedEx Cup standings.

Brown isn’t especially long but he hits it straight, putts well and Sedgefield CC should suit his game.

He arrives in Greensboro in good form having finished T71-T75-T5-T20-T47 in his last five tournaments.

His T5 at the John Deere Classic is a good guide because it is a tournament that is often decided on the greens, a lot like the Wyndham Championship.

Last year’s runner up Jordan Spieth recorded impressive results on both courses (P1-P2) as did Patrick Reed, who finished T7 at the John Deere before winning the Wyndham.

If the trend continues Scott Brown could turn out to be an excellent bet at 100/1 (Paddy Power) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
