WGC Bridgestone Invitational Tips: Keegan Bradley

Finished T15 at Firestone last year and will enjoy the firm and fast conditions.

Last years WGC Bridgestone Invitational was the first tournament that alerted me to the talents of Keegan Bradley. He eventually finished T15 but was in contention up until the back nine on Sunday. The following week he went on to win the PGA Championship and the rest as they say is history.

Ranked top in the PGA Tour’s all-around index, a combination of driving, putting and GIRs stats, he certainly has the game to win at Firestone. However, his real asset is his high ball flight.

He ranks 16th on the PGA Tour in driving distance and 9th for apex height. In summary, he hits the ball high and long.  Firestone normally plays hard and fast and with greens measuring 13.0 on the Stimpmeter, expect the putting surface to be incredibly firm. The ability to land the ball softly from a great height should give him better control on his approach shots.

A price of 60/1 (Bet365) is simply too big for a major winner with good course form. Back him each way and get ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
