Web com Tour Championship Tips: Xander Schauffele
Spent the last few months on the cusp of getting a PGA Tour card but can now flourish knowing his promotion is assured.
Xander Schauffele spent most of the regular season on the ‘bubble’ missing out on a PGA Tour card by one place and under $1,000. Thankfully finishes of T50-T18-T9 during the Finals will be enough to gain him a tour card and for the first time in months he can play without the burden of fighting for his future.
To his credit, Schauffele hasn’t wilted under the pressure and has got better throughout the season with four top-10s in his last nine starts.
The 22-year-old was a talented collegiate golfer but now has invaluable experience under his belt and is mentally much better prepared than at the start of the year.
Like the last three winners of the Tour Championship, Schauffele has a top-10 finish during the Finals and can round off the season with a maiden tour win at 55/1.
