Utah Championship Trends

The Utah Championship is a regular stop on the Web.com Tour which has allowed some strong winning trends to build up.

The Web.com Tour is back on familiar territory with the Utah Championship the highlight of the week.

Willow Creek Country Club has hosted an event on tour every year since 1990, expect for a brief two year hiatus in 1997-1998.

A relatively short par-71, it has five par-5s on the card and ample scoring opportunities.

These are the winning trends of the past five years:

Top-60 for scrambling
The greens are ample but if you are off target then you can find yourself in some lush grass. The last five winners were all excellent scramblers; often crucial in keeping the momentum of a low round going.

Top-70 for actual scoring average
Will Wilcox shot a closing 59 to finish third last year, just one example of how low you can go at Willow Creek.

Top-70 for total driving
The five par-5s on the card are all accessible with good drives.

Top-70 in putts per round
The flat stick needs to be working to stand a chance of winning in Utah. The last five champions all ranked inside the top-70 in putts per round.

Top-70 in all around ranking
With so many strong trends it is no surprise the last five winners all ranked inside the top-70 of this overarching metric.

Players that fit all five trends:

Derek Fathauer 22/1 Bet365
