USPGA Championship Tips: Kyle Stanley

After a terrible start, he played his final 27-holes at the Open in one-under par and carried that form into the Canadian Open with a T12 finish.

After tipping Kyle Stanley to win the Open Championship, I was left red-faced after a front-nine of 46 strokes left him 10-over par. To his immense credit, he only missed the cut by one shot, after playing his last 27 holes in one-under.

The 25-year-old built on that performance with a T12 at the Canadian Open where he was in contention all four days.

It’s still been a very hit-and-miss season for Kyle Stanley with too many missed cuts but at his best he is still a force to be reckoned with.

He is a fantastic ball-striker and when on song he is capable of beating the best. He has two third placed finishes this season and was a tour winner last year.

He will have learned a lot at Muirfield, especially the need to stay patient and that should stand him in good stead at Oak Hill. At 225/1 (Bet365) he is not a forlorn hope, with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
