USPGA Championship Golf Tips: Seung-Yul Noh

Five top-20 finishes in his last six strokeplay events; the course should suit this talented youngster.

In 2011, the USPGA Championship catapulted Keegan Bradley onto the world stage and a similar scenario could develop at Kiawah Island. If it doesn’t happen this week in South Carolina, then it will one day for the prodigiously talented Seung-Yul Noh.

Only 21-years old, the South Korean has made a tremendous start to his career on the PGA Tour. In 24 starts, he has made the cut 20 times and sits a lofty 38th in the FedEx Cup Standings.

The encouraging news is that he seems to be getting better week by week. In his last six strokeplay tournaments he has finished T7-T18-T4-T27-T19-T15, breaking par in 20/24 rounds of golf.

Ranked 18th on tour for driving distance Noh shouldn’t struggle for length at Kiaway Island. He is also one of the few players in the field to have experience of playing a tournament on Paspalum greens this year; he finished T16 at the Mayakoba Classic and T25 at the Puerto Rico Open.

Despite his tender years this will be his 7th major and having made the cut five times he actually has more experience then some of his older competitors.

Seung-Yul Noh is destined for the big time and at 150/1 (Sportingbet) he is excellent each-way value with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
