Thomas Bjorn enters The Open Championship Betting

Thomas Bjorn stayed calm to win the Qatar Masters and improve his ranking to a position where automatic entry to the Open at Sandwich is a distinct possibility.

William Hill have introduced Thomas Bjorn as a 150/1 shot to win the Open Championship after he held his nerve to secure the Qatar Masters, his first win since the Portuguese Open in June 2010.

The win moves Bjorn from 133rd to just inside the top 60 in the World Golf Rankings, a position that would be high enough to earn him a place at the WGC – Accenture Match Play. The Dane can now realistically aim to get inside the top 50, a ranking that would get him into the Majors.

For Bjorn there is the added incentive of the Open Championship returning to Sandwich this year, the course where in 2003 he famously squandered a three shot lead on the closing nine holes.
