The Heritage Golf Tips: Luke Donald

Luke Donald

Plays the course beautifully, with two consecutive top three finishes and is in the form of his life.

The PGA Tour visits one of its regular tournaments this week - The Heritage. Played at the Harbour Town Golf Links, it is one of the easier courses the pros play. Although the tiny putting surfaces make it the second most difficult in terms of greens in regulation, it ranked seventh easiest in scrambling and third easiest in putting last year. In summary you are going to miss greens, it’s whether you can make the up and down to be competitive here.

Given that scenario, the first tip is an obvious one. Luke Donald is one of the hottest golfers on the planet right now. A fourth placed finish in the Masters was a continuation of his excellent form. The Englishmen has finished in the top ten in each of his last four tournaments. He ranks first on the PGA Tour for scoring averages and third for scrambling. It seems everything is working well in his game.

When it comes to course form it also doesn’t get much better. On his last two visits to the Harbour Town he has finished tied third and tied second. It is a venue that suits his game and whilst he is playing out of his skin you want him on your side.
