The Heritage Golf Tips: Kris Blanks

Kris Blanks

Finished T5 at the course last year and his game is showing signs of revival after a good week in Texas.

Our final selection for the Heritage is the long shot Kris Blanks at 225/1, but there are reasons to be hopeful.

Firstly, he had one of his best results of 2010 at this very course. At nine-under he finished tied fifth, having shot three consecutive sub-70 rounds of golf. He therefore returns to the course with fond memories.

Secondly, his game has shown signs of life in the last couple of weeks. After four consecutive missed cuts, he finally made the weekend at two consecutive events in the Deep South. In tricky conditions, T36 was a respectable finish at the Valero Texas Open. Not for the first time he has showed an aptitude for windy conditions and links style golf; his best finish of the season is a T26 at Pebble Beach.

A return to the seaside tends to bring the best out of Blanks and if his twitter account is to be believed, “The game is there…real good play is coming!” At a mammoth 225/1 if the good play is going to arrive then it will be at the Heritage.
