The Golf Outsider: Tour Championship

Singh when you are winning

It is a reduced field at East Lake but the Outsider has still found some value. Time to reinvest some of those Justin Rose winnings.

The Tour Championship is held at East Lake in Atlanta and there is plenty of course form, but also the huge sub plot of a $10million purse for the winner of the Fed-Ex Cup. The winner of the tournament does not necessarily win the jackpot, so expect some different game plans depending on who is in contention come Sunday. With that in mind, and keeping true to form, I fancy two outsiders who will be playing without pressure; the chances of them cashing the $10million are tiny.

Tour Championship Selections

Vijay Singh is a large price with concerns over his back injury returning. From the Wyndham Championship onwards his form went T4-T3-CUT-67 . If his back holds up he can exceed those last two results. His form at East Lake is superb, including a win in 2002.
Recommended Bet: Vijay Singh @ 80.0

Mark Wilson is a two-time winner this year, and was going great at the BMW Championship before bombing out at the weekend to finish T22. It is the first time he has played in the Tour Championship but he is definitely worth following.  An unfashionable player to bet on, he is always overpriced.
