The Barclays Golf Tips: Bubba Watson

Signalled a return to form with T11 at the PGA Championship. Finished T18 at Bethpage in the 2009 US Open.

It has been a tremendous year for Bubba Watson. He won his first major at Augusta, has four further top-5 finishes and became a father for the first time. With the playoffs and the Ryder Cup still to come, the season could get even better.

After his Masters victory, Bubba took a break from golf to spend some time with his family. Some eyebrows were raised but the opportunity to recharge his batteries should serve him well in this busy end of season.

At the PGA Championship he finished T11, sneaking up the leaderboard with a final round 68. This was his fourth top-25 finish in a row, hinting that he was back in the groove that made him so productive early in the season.

Ranked second on tour for GIRs, he fits the key trend of past Barclays winners. He also has the benefit of course knowledge having finished a respectable T18 at Bethpage in the 2009 US Open.

Bubba has come on leaps and bounds since then and with his game in good shape he looks value at 25/1 (Bet365). Back him each-way and get ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
