Shenzhen International Tips: Ricardo Gouveia
Won the Challenge Tour’s money list last season and finished T12-T3 at the Foshan Open in China.
Andrew Johnston won the Challenge Tour money list in 2014 and showcased the strength of the feeder tour by winning his maiden European Tour title at Valderrama.
That should encourage recent graduates from the Challenge Tour the gap can be bridged and perhaps Ricardo Gouveia can follow his example.
The 24-year-old won the money list last season and already looks capable of making the step up in grade. His best finish this season is a T7 in Qatar but he has also made 6/8 cuts and finished T38 at Valderrama last week.
This will be Gouveia’s first look at Genzon GC but he has played in China before, finishing T12-T3 at the Foshan Open. Already inside the top-100 of the world rankings, it won’t be long until he adds a tour win to his name. At 80/1 (William Hill) it could come this week.
