AT&T National Golf Tips: Marc Leishman
Rookie of the year in 2009, he has gained enough experience to make the breakthrough on tour. Finished T7 at the venue last time.
A graduate from the Nationwide Tour in 2008, Marc Leishman is overdue his breakthrough win. Named PGA Tour rookie of the year in 2009, he has threatened that win, without quite delivering.
A big hitter and good putter, Leishman tends to save his best for difficult courses. A tied seventh at the AT&T last year showed his liking for this neck of the woods. It was his third consecutive top-20 finish at a Donald Ross designed venue.
Currently 63rd in the FedEx Cup, it has been a solid if unspectacular year so far. A couple of top ten finishes have been tempered by too many missed cuts.
This young Aussie still has lots of potential. Playing on the links-style course reminiscent of the ones in his homeland could bring out the best in him.
Back him each way at 90/1 and get ¼ odds for a top five finish.
