Players Championship Tips: Stewart Cink

Made the cut in his last seven starts and has a T3 at the Players on his CV.

A couple of times this season I’ve noted that Stewart Cink is returning to the kind of form that won him an Open Championship and before the bookmakers react, I think we can get a big price win out of him.

The 39-year-old hasn’t missed a cut since the Phoenix Open at the start of February, a run of seven tournaments during which he’s registered four top-25 finishes.

Ranked 127th for strokes gained putting, the flat stick is letting him down but there were encouraging signs at the Heritage, which was statistically his third best putting performance of the season.

With a T3 at the Players back in 2007, Cink can play the course and at 135/1 (Stan James) he looks a decent each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
