PGA Tour & Match Play Round Up

David Toms

High quality golf is taking place on both sides of the pond with the form players making hay.

After losing the Players Championship in a playoff, David Toms is looking for quick redemption at Colonial. An opening 62 puts him in a share of the lead with Chez Reavie at eight under, and 13/2 favourite with Skybet.

Rickie Fowler played holes 1-9 in only 29 strokes, despite carding a double bogey. That electric form leaves him one shot behind at seven under and 8/1 second favourite. Sergio Garcia continued his good form from Sawgrass to card a four under par 66 and is now a 22/1 chance to win the Crowne Plaza Invitational.

Defending champion Zach Johnson could only manage a round of two under par and has drifted out to 35/1, six shots behind the leader.

The Volvo World Match Play Championship is taking place in Spain, and on day one all members of the winning Ryder Cup team remained unbeaten. With the group stages still taking place, Lee Westwood remains favourite at 9/2 with world number two Luke Donald lurking close behind at 5/1.
