USPGA Championship Golf Tips: Robert Karlsson

Karlsson Consistent at the USPGA

T17 at the WGC last week. Won the European Order of Merit in 2008 and an underrated golfer.

Another player who has enjoyed good results on Bermuda grass greens is Robert Karlsson. A playoff defeat at the St. Jude Classic for the second year in a row shows how much he enjoys it, although not on the extra holes it seems.

The big hitting Swede has a game well suited to Atlanta Athletic Club and he arrives in form. A T17 at the WGC Invitational augers well, especially after opening rounds of 68-65 put him in contention.  He couldn’t make inroads over the weekend but at least that hasn’t drained him before the final major of the year.

The PGA Championship is a tournament where Karlsson has always done well. His last four finishes have been T16-T20-T57-T29; a consistent set of results.

Don’t forget this was a golfer who won the European Order of Merit in 2008.  At a triple figure price he is an underrated golfer. Back him each way and get ¼ odds for a top six finish.
