Talented Saddier Can Break Through

The precocious Frenchman has four top-30 finishes this season and is ready to make his mark in a big way.

The European Tour returns ‘home’ for the first time this year, with Sotogrande playing host to the inaugural NH Collection Open.

Co-sanctioned with the Challenge Tour there is a smattering of unfamiliar names in the line-up and the weakened field gives someone the opportunity to make a name for themselves.

Adrien Saddier is a tour rookie but he’s a player in a hurry. The 21-year-old turned pro last July having reached an impressive tenth place in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

In only his seventh tournament as a professional he finished sixth at Q-School to gain full playing rights on the European Tour.

The young Frenchman could have been overawed by his rapid ascent to the top table of European golf but that is not reflected in his results.

So far this season he has four top-30 finishes from seven starts including an impressive T6 at the Nelson Mandela Championship and a T16 in a strong field at the Qatar Masters.

Saddier is a rare talent and we should snap up the 80/1 (William Hill) on offer before he hits the big time.
