Memorial Tips: Charl Schwartzel
Has four top-30 finishes at the course and a generous price for a player of his ability.
It’s funny to think Charl Schwartzel is chasing his first PGA Tour win since the Masters in 2011 because he’s too good a golfer to suffer a prolonged draught.
Putting has been his Achilles’ heel this season but at a ball striking venue like Muirfield Village he can overcome deficiencies on the greens.
In the last five years he has finished T27-T22-T19-T8 and held the lead after the opening round in 2013.
The South African has six top-25 finishes in just nine starts on the PGA Tour this season and I expect him to contend again at 50/1 (Stan James). Back him each-way and get ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
