HSBC Champions: Graham DeLaet
Course looks an ideal test for no.1 ball striker on the PGA Tour. Finished T7 last week.
Graham DeLaet makes his WGC debut this week but the Canadian has already proved more than up to the challenge. In his last six tournaments he’s finished T2-3-T28-28-MC-T7 and acquitted himself well during the Presidents Cup.
The 31-year-old was rated the best ball striker on the PGA Tour last season and he fits the mould of past HSBC Champions like Francesco Molinari, Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter.
DeLaet blew a great opportunity to win the CIMB Classic last week after he made a mess of the 15th & 16th holes, but overall his play was of a high standard. At 50/1 (Skybet) I’d be surprised if he wasn’t in contention again this week.
